What are you doing with all the photos you’ve taken of your destination, event or on your last fam trip?
We all invest in taking great photos and here’s a way to use these photos in a unique way. You can create excitement and buzz when you repurpose your photos into an animated slide show that will wow clients and deliver new business to your door.
Using Animoto is really simple.
#1 Sign-up and create your account
There is a free account that gives you stock images and music for a 30 second slide show video. There is a paid version as well offering longer video.
#2 Choose a style
Select a style that represents your product and brand. There’s an entire category for travel and I find they have a number of compelling templates to use. Choose if you’d like to create a free 30-second video or pay a nominal fee for a longer version.
Tip: keep in mind that people’s attention spans are relatively short. I’ve used only the free version and find it suitable for most audiences.
Click the template to see all the graphics and hear the music.
Choose to purchase or Make your 30-second video
#3 – Create your photo video
Once you’ve selected your template you’ll be driven to a screen to begin uploading your photos. It looks like this:
#4 Upload from your computer
When you click ‘Add Pics & vids’, then select ‘Upload Pictures and Video’ you’ll be shown your collection of photos. Simply select from your hard drive and Animoto will put it into the line up of photos for you.
Tip: You may want to use images from your top suppliers’ image gallery and showcase an upcoming tour or group departure. To do this, download the images from the supplier image gallery right onto your hard drive. Then simply upload to Animoto.
First photo uploaded
Tip: You may want to create a cover photo that includes your company name and contact information. You can take a photo like the one in the above example and add text to it using PicMonkey, Picassa, iPiccy or Canva.
Alternately, you can log-in to your social sites and upload from there as well. This works great if you have your best photos already on your Facebook page. Please read the terms and conditions from Animoto carefully.
#5 Upload graphics from Animoto
Click ‘Image Library’ for a selection of photos for you to choose. Animoto even includes travel photos.
#6 Add Captions to the bottom of the slide
By hovering over the bottom edge of each photo you can add captions . Consider key, descriptive words or even contact information. You’ll want to keep it short and simple as the slide show moves quickly.
#7 Spotlight, Rotate or Duplicate
Using the simple dashboard on the left will allow you to make simple changes or delete a slide.
#8 Add a text slide
Change the order of the photos by dragging and dropping them into a new position.
#9 Add a Title to your show
Title can be added and edited by clicking on the pencil icon.
#10 Add a contact slide or 2
Add your contact information by creating a new image using one of the image editing tools mentioned in point #4 or create a text slide. Keep in mind the slides roll quickly, so you may want to put your name on one slide and your contact info on the next. Here’s an example:
#11 Set Thumb nail
To set the thumbnail and name your presentation click the pencil icon in the top left corner by the presentation name OR click ‘Settings’ in the upper right hand side of your screen. Use the arrows to move thru the selections.
#12 Preview and Name your creation
Click ‘Preview Video’ on the left as you’re working on your masterpiece to preview it to see how it looks. Be sure to name your video and add a key word rich description.
#13 Publish & Produce
Once you’re satisfied with the production preview click Produce.
Tip: if you’re not quite ready to publish your masterpiece you can save it by clicking ‘Save’ in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
