Do you ever wish you could ensure a post reaches only your existing clients? Imagine how you’d use this gem; providing a special offer just to existing clients, launching an exciting new tour to your pied-pipers or even extending a tour upgrade to your top clients. Creating a custom audience in Facebook Ads Manages makes this wish come true.
Simply create an Excel spreadsheet of your client email addresses, then head over to Facebook Ads Manager to set up a Custom Audience featuring your own clients.
Tip: Format your spreadsheet as a .csv. Make sure you have only 1 column with just email addresses. Remove any column headers.
Here’s the navigation: click on the ‘hamburger’ icon at the top left of your screen, then select ‘Audiences’. Next select ‘Create Audience’ and then ‘Custom Audience’, then ‘Customer File’. Then follow the prompts to upload your client list. Add more finesse with these tips and examples.

Look Alike Audiences
What if you want to expand your reach and find other people who are similar to your existing clients? This is a great way to broaden your reach with people who have some of the same attributes as your original audience. Plus, this is a fantastic way to scale your ads and reach new people.
Simply click ‘Create Audience’ and choose ‘Look Alike Audience’. You’ll then enter your existing audience as the Source Audience in the template. Depending on how closely you want to match your new audience, simply adjust the ‘Audience Size’ button. The lower the number means the new audience will more closely match the attributes of your source audience.
Pro Tip: consider creating a Look Alike audience of people who have viewed your videos, visited your website, or interacted with your Lead Generation. You’ll need to install the Facebook pixel on your website to access these features.
