But who’s actually using it and is it worthwhile for your travel client demographic? Here’s the scoop:
Although social media platforms are all designed for specific demographics, using their own language, all with their own niche, that doesn’t mean you can’t learn a new platform while enhancing your others niches and platforms.
TikTok Account Set-up
The first thing to do is set up your TikTok account. Let’s start with the sign-up process on your mobile device.
Here’s 4 reasons why TikTok may be a valuable tool in your marketing toolbox.
#1 — Use TikTok to create videos for other platforms
Part of mastering a new social platform is learning how to use it. I love to teach myself a new tool by simply using it for a purpose. Play around with the transitions, add in photos and videos, and learn how to add music by creating videos for your other social media platforms.
Share your TikTok videos on Facebook, add to Reels on Instagram or Pin them to your Pinterest page. Even though TikTok users’ trend younger, 40% of those using the app are over 30, showing your demographic of clients is becoming familiarized with the app.
#2 — Brush up on your video editing skills
Whether you’re new to video editing or haven’t done it in a while, TikTok provides you all the tools you will need to make fun, engagement rich, videos.
TikTok provides an extensive music and sound library, add text, include stickers, and play around with transitions.
Here’s the steps to get started.
#3 — Build your TikTok followers
While you experiment with TikTok and create videos that you are sharing on other platforms you can grow your TikTok followers simply by sharing your videos. TikTok videos are branded with your TikTok username. This will allow people who watch your videos on other social media platforms to find you on TikTok.
Double down and include a call to action in your posts to follow you on TikTok including your TikTok handle. Users on the TikTok app are spending an average of 46 minutes a day watching videos. This means that TikTok users are consuming a lot of content.
#4 — Up your video content
We all know that video is king right now. Learning how to use TikTok while harnessing video for other platforms will give you a wide variety of new videos to share across your entire social footprint.
Making evergreen content on TikTok will allow for tons of options for repurposing and sharing across all of your online platforms. The travel industry is in the perfect position to use this platform because it is all about showing off eye catching content. Travel advisors can capture short videos while traveling and put together engagement inducing, stunning, video that can be used on TikTok and repurposed on other social media accounts.
Learning how to use TikTok while providing video content to your other platforms is a great way to start out on a new social media app. Once you master the basics of using TikTok you will be able to grow your platform’s audience, and join in on the fun of TikTok trends, and more!
