Are you a Wedding & Romance specialist? A Culinary tourism guru? Or an Adventure specialist?
Marketing to your niche market on Pinterest opens a whole new world of possibilities. Imagine your clients turning to you not only for travel information, but as a valuable partner in their lifestyle planning. Your relationship with your clients will expand from simply planning their trip to becoming their go-to person for all aspects of leisure activities. Then, just think how top of mind awareness will skyrocket.
Creating unique boards related to your travel specialty will showcase your niche market and offer ideas and advice…not just travel information. When you engage your clients and potential clients on a higher level you’ll be their ‘rock star’.
Let’s look at examples of ways to use Pinterest boards as a travel specialists.
1. Wedding Specialists
Think about providing resources to newly engaged honeymoon planners. Imagine boards filled with wedding invitation options, gifts for out of town guests, wedding favors, and flower arrangements. When planning your boards consider all the aspects of wedding, honeymoon and travel prep your bride-to-be clients will need to know to enjoy wedded bliss.
Here are some examples from our friend Lisa Sheldon at I Do Island Weddings:
Let’s dive a bit deeper and explore some of these boards:
2. Adventure Specialists
Active travelers will love the fact that you’ve created boards about activities like zip-lining, skiing, hiking and extreme sports. These boards by G Adventures focus on activities, travel tips, photography tips. Pretty much everything an adventure traveler will need in planning their experience. I love how they’ve interspersed video and photos onto their boards.
3. Culinary Travel Specialists
Culinary & foodie tour specialists can include information on foodie destinations, wineries, and new recipes from hot chefs. Even cook books can inspire travel. Who wouldn’t want to travel to Paris after devouring the “Barefoot in Paris”. Check out these boards.
4. Cruise Specialists
How about setting up boards for each ship you sell? How about creating boards about food, activities or shore excursions and repining photos from your previous ship-themed boards. This will help you showcase cruising by ship as well as by interest.
**Notice how Jill La Barre at Jill’s Great Escapes has included her website and contact information on her profile. Awesome work!
While we all think about marketing travel destinations, the goal is to provide your followers with other relevant resources that will help them in their trip planning. These resources are a way to show the world that you are dedicated and involved in your niche market, not simply selling.
