Would you like to gather Facebook engagement and build likes, comments and shares outside of your Facebook page? Great news…it’s possible to use your e-blasts, e-zines, blog posts and website to generate Facebook engagement in an exciting new way.
Travel, Tourism and Hospitality pros have another tool in their marketing tool box to reach audiences in various mediums and cross-pollinate their readership. ‘Embed Post’ is the way to transfer your posts to other channels of communication.
Here’s how to do this:
#1 – Find the embed code
Hover over the upper right hand corner of the Facebook post you’d like to embed. You’ll see a drop down box with the last option being ‘Embed Post’. Click this.
#2 – Capture the Embed Code
Upon clicking the option “Embed Post” you’ll be directed to a screen with a code at the top. It will look like this.
Copy this code (highlighted in blue above) by right clicking on the code and selecting Copy.
#3 – Embed the Code in your Blog
Open your blog and navigate into the admin panel. Select the tab that takes you to the HTML or TEXT view. Here’s what it looks like in my blog admin panel:
Write the opening text of your blog, then paste the embed code into the position you’d like it to appear in your blog post.
Here’s what it will look like when viewed in the Visual view of your blog’s preview:
Remember it will look different when you’re in the edit mode of your blog. The back end of your blog may look different than this.
#3a – Embed the Code into your e-blast or e-newsletter
Open your e-blast platforms’ dashboard. If using Constant Contact or Vertical Response begin a new document.
Then navigate to the HTML view and paste the code into the document.
Here’s how it will look in the Preview pane.
#3b – Embed into your website
Use the same tactics as above and embed the code onto the page and section of your website where it’s relevant.
#4 – Interactivity
Once you’ve embedded your Facebook post into one of these other mediums, readers will be able to interact with this post. This is a really cool way to encourage people to like, comment and share your material right from your website, blog or e-blast.
In addition, they can even ‘Like’ your Facebook page directly when you use this strategy. Readers will also be able to click thru to the actual post and comment or share it from your Facebook page.
What a bonus! Grow your fan base directly from your website, e-zine, e-blast or blog post.
Embed YOUR posts Today!
I challenge you to get creative and use your e-newsletter, e-mail blasts, blog posts and your website to draw in new fans. You’ll find you’re able to leverage the time you’ve spent creating great Facebook posts and nurturing engagement in an exciting new way.
